Feel Comfortable Even During Dental Disasters

Dental crises are already stressful without adding treatment anxiety. We offer gentle inhaled sedation with laughing gas to help you relax during your emergency care, if needed. This safe option works within minutes to create a sense of calm. The effects wear off shortly after treatment, allowing you to drive yourself home once your emergency is resolved.

Your physical comfort is always a priority, especially during urgent visits. Our treatment rooms feature comforts that transform emergency care into a pleasant experience.

You can cozy up with soft pillows and warm blankets while headphones let you enjoy calming music and protective glasses shield your eyes from overhead lights. These simple touches help reduce stress during what would otherwise be a tense situation.

Your dentist will assess your condition using technology like digital X-rays, so we can provide the appropriate treatment. Depending on the nature of your emergency, this may include a tooth filling, dental crown, or other restorative treatment.

Know What to Do Before Reaching Our Office

It's important to take the proper steps before your emergency appointment.

For toothaches, rinse with warm salt water and take over-the-counter pain relievers. If you've broken a tooth, save any fragments and rinse your mouth with warm water.

For a knocked-out tooth, hold it by the crown (not the root) and gently rinse without scrubbing. Try placing it back in the socket or store it in milk or saliva. If a filling or crown comes loose, keep the restoration and apply dental cement from a drugstore as temporary protection.

Soft tissue injuries like cuts to your gums, tongue, or cheeks should be gently cleaned with warm water. Apply gentle pressure with gauze or a tea bag to control bleeding. Cold compresses on the outside of your mouth can reduce swelling and pain for most emergencies.

Contact Serenity Dental at once for any dental emergencies in Austin.

As a dental hygienist myself I can wholeheartedly say that Dr. Nair does excellent dental work. I’ve had very thorough and gentle cleanings by her and her hygienists as well as had a filling placed on one of my front teeth due to a chip in a very visible area and it is seamless with my natural tooth. The color match is perfect. I can also say that the equipment used here is top notch. I choose to get my cleanings done every 4 months and I get them done at the office I work at and here because I trust their work. I’ve been coming here for several years now and Dr. Nair and her team have not changed in their kind nature and fair prices.10/10 would recommend.

Edit: I absolutely love Dr. Rao as well, both her and Dr. Nair are amazing dentist. Also I'd like to give a shoutout to the front desk team, Bailey and Anastasia, they are the sweetest. They’re always welcoming, super helpful with scheduling, and make the whole experience so easy from start to finish. The office itself is clean, calm, and has such a welcoming vibe. _____ Dr. Nair is an excellent dentist. I recently relocated to Austin from Seattle and was worrying about looking for a new dentist, but I got lucky I found Dr. Nair. She is a professional and has a naturally lovely personality. We had a little chat after my care and I love talking to her :) On top of that, she took extra time to explain every procedure she was doing to me and make sure that I am always comfortable. Not to mention, the whole staff crews are so nice. I tested positive for covid a couple of days before the appointment. I tried calling the office but realized they are closed due to the holiday. I sent them an email and to my surprise, they called me right away to inform me it is okay to reschedule when I'm feeling better. The staff also waived my last-minute cancelation fee ~ The whole experience was 10/5 ✨✨✨ I would recommend Dr. Nair and this business to everyone. She and the team are the best dental crew in town!

Esme, Dr. Nair, and the entire team always provide top-tier care. From the moment I walk in, I feel comfortable, relaxed, and well cared for. Their professionalism and kindness make every visit easy, and I always know I’m in great hands. I could not recommend them enough!

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Emergencies

What qualifies as a dental emergency?
Dental emergencies include severe toothaches, knocked-out teeth, loose or broken teeth, lost or broken fillings or crowns, facial swelling, and soft tissue injuries causing significant bleeding. Anything causing severe pain, potential tooth loss, or infection risk should be treated promptly to prevent complications.
How quickly can I be seen for a dental emergency?
We reserve space in our daily schedule specifically for emergencies and typically offer same-day appointments for patients in pain. Call us early in the day when possible and we'll get you into the office as soon as we can.
